Every once in a great while, there comes a show that is ahead of its time. The Critic, Futurama, or even Family Guy stand out. Many DC Comics fans would argue that Young Justice was one such show as well. Broken up into thirty minute episodes, the journey of Young Justice was very different than what much of the animated episodic shows were doing at the time. The show explored continuing themes of honor, growth, and romance but through the lens of teen-aged superheroes. The show unceremoniously ended only after it's second season, but much like the phoenix, it has returned! Den of Geek caught up with Sam Register, President of Warner Bros. Animation and Warner Digital Series who had this to say why the show has been revived after five years:
The affection that fans have had for Young Justice, and their rallying cry for more episodes, has always resonated with us. We are excited to bring the show back for this loyal fanbase and to provide an opportunity for new viewers to discover this excellent series.
Of course, the original producers, Brandon Vietti and Greg Weisman are also coming back and this time, bringing a HUGE order of 26 episodes with them!
The show makes its debut on the new DC Universe streaming service, Jaunary 4th! Let us know what you think and if you were one of those incredibly passionate fans to bring this show back to life in the comments below and in the forum!
