How to Support YJ from International Waters

It’s another Whelmed Wednesday here at YoungJustice.tv! With #CrashtheMode coming up in a few weeks, all the hosts been very busy planning activities to help support the show. Have no idea what I’m talking about? Check out the Crash the Mode campaign here. We’ll need all the support we can get, so keep your eyes peeled for the next update!

Meanwhile, today I wanted to address a common issue I’ve seen floating all around the internet, especially with #CrashtheMode coming up: International Support. The fact remains that DC Universe is still unavailable to people outside the US, leaving many international fans frustrated. Many are unable to watch the show, and are unsure of how to support it when the content is unavailable to them. Therefore, I’ve compiled a list of things international fans can do to support both the fan campaign and the show, outside of buying DC Universe. So, my dear international friends, this one is for you:

If money is not an obstacle:

  • Purchase episodes of YJ, or entire seasons on iTunes. Yes, it’s a little pricey. But again, the best way to support the show is by buying episodes and watching them. Someone please correct me if international fans cannot purchase episodes from iTunes.
  • Purchase official Young Justice merchandise. Like the very cute Wally West plush found here.
  • Purchase the official Young Justice comics on Comixology, and buy the paperback when it’s released in the near-future. These are wonderful reads and are all show-canon! Additionally, news broke earlier this week that the first few issues of the comics will be reprinted again. This is a FANTASTIC way to support the show, and may even get us some more comics in the near future!

If money is an obstacle:

  • Binge the show on any legal platform that you can. Numbers are numbers, and any impact is something. Keep the show playing in the background, host a watch party, whatever works! Extend me an invite to your humble abode and I shall watch it with you..
  • Tweet and contact DCU to ask about the service for international fans. While we haven’t yet heard any updates regarding access for international fans, it’s important to keep asking. By asking, you are expressing interest, which shows that there is a market!
  • Follow #CrashtheMode very closely and participate. This is going to be a really fun campaign, y’all. We’re going to have streaming parties, hashtag marathons, and even a cast/crew appreciation week. We need your support! The best way you can help is by sharing and participating. We’ll only succeed if everyone gives it their all and does their part.

Stay whelmed, dear international viewers. I know the water seems a little murky, but we’ll all get through it together. Until then, spread the word, share the hashtag, and feel the aster!
