5 Things We Are Looking For in Season 3B

Happy Wednesday, readers! We’re getting closer than ever to the second half of the season, and with about 47 days left to go, the excitement is starting to build up again. Before we get into today’s piece, I wanted to quickly remind everyone of the #CrashtheMode campaign coming up at the end of the month. In case you missed it, you can read more about the campaign here. Though the campaign hasn’t officially started yet, there are many ways you can still show your support! The best ways to support at the moment are by:

  • Watching the show on DCU.
  • Making a short fan video on what Young Justice means to you and submitting it to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..
  • Follow YJFANDOMFEST on Tumblr to gear up for #FandomFridays.
  • Use the hashtag #CrashtheMode in tweets about Young Justice.

Now, with all that out of the way, time to talk about the second half of season three! The first half was great, but it left so many questions and cliffhangers that are sure to be addressed in the second half. Like many of you, I’ve been theorizing and anticipating what’s to come for the remainder of the season until my brain hurts. So for now, I’m going to toss theories to the side and focus on the plotlines I know will be addressed. Here are the top five plotlines I’m looking forward to see being played out in 3B:

  1. The Judas Contract: Okay, this is a plot point that I know didn’t originally thrill a lot of fans. But here’s the silver lining: the writers of YJ know what they’re doing. If they’re going to do the Judas Contract storyline, surely they have something up their sleeves to truly make it an interesting retelling. Personally, I can’t wait to see their own take on it.
  2. Destruction of the multiple secret teams: Come on, when has anything in YJ worked according to plan? Every time a super secret plan hatches, something always goes askew, either for better or worse. There is no way that all these secret teams will end up working out in the way all the heroes think it will. Didn’t they learn anything from last season? As uncomfortable as it will be for the characters, I’m kind of looking forward to seeing things blow up.
  3. Granny Goodness and Darkseid: If you’ve read previous DC Comics, you’ll already know that Granny Goodness is nothing but trouble. Though I’m unfamiliar with a lot of DC lore, I’m both scared and excited to see how their plot will unfold throughout the rest of the season.
  4. The Outsiders (potentially) joining the team: Based on a quick preview clip of Cassie standing next to Brion, I think it’s safe to assume that at some point, the Outsiders will join the main team. I don’t know about y’all, but there’s bound to be some thrilling interactions between all of them that will probably leave me laughing off my seat. I can already imagine Bart having a field day with all the new people. Here’s hoping we’ll see more of all of them in the latter half!
  5. A potential Suicide Squad: In the short preview we received teasing episodes 14-17, we saw the possibility of a Suicide Squad being run by none other than Ms. Amanda Waller herself. Now, I could be very, very wrong here, and it could be something else entirely. Either way, I am excited. Could certain (captured or ‘shamed’) villains be under mind control or otherwise forced to run missions for higher-ups. Is that what’s been going on with Cheshire?! This is one plotline I’m super excited to see play out.

There are so many little things to look forward to in the rest of this season that I didn’t get to mention here. What will Halo’s ultimate story arc come to? Will Conner and M’gann actually get married and live happily ever after? (One can only hope). Will Jade’s arc come to a conclusion and will she return to her family? (One can only hope harder). Are we going to get to see more of Metamorpho and Katana? Is anybody else worried about the Nuclear Option?

Too many questions, and 47 days to wait. Stay whelmed, my friends. For now, let’s just #CrashtheMode.

#1 I'm excited for 3b!taytay9@ 2019-05-15 13:35
I agree fully about the destruction of the multiple secret teams. As soon as I found out that Batman, Robin, Nightwing, Oracle, Miss Martian, and Aquaman were working together and keeping yet another secret I was like "Really? We haven't learned our lesson from season 2?" People are going to find out about this secret and it's not going to be pretty.

I also hope we see more of the younger team and Tim's squad more in 3B. And I most definitely agree with you about the interactions that they will have with the Outsiders if/when they join the team because Brion still has a temper and I can only imagine how the scarab might react to him literally blowing up lol.

And Supermartian better have their happy ending and wedding! I'm gonna go off if something bad happens to either one of them lol.

And one thing that I hope to see that you didn't mention is that we see the rest of the Runaways. We saw Ed in the preview for episodes 14-17 so hopefully we'll get to see Tye and Asami, too.
